Robert Johnson is a resident of Bowie, MD, he is currently the Executive Director of My Brother’s Keepers Prince George’s county network in Prince George’s County MD.
Robert has close to 20 years’ experience in both K12 and higher education and has served as an educator, school principal and college director. Robert’s passion and desire is to create opportunities and pathways to success for future generations. In February 2014 Robert accepted President Barack Obama’s challenge to launch My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) which is a Non-Profit organization designed to connect men of color to services & programs that can have a measurable impact on the community. My Brother’s keeper will engage directly with our youth adolescents and families to increase graduation rates and college acceptance rates- My Brother’s Keeper will provide programs that will include college and career readiness, mentoring, mental health, job creation/workforce development, transitional services and gang violence reduction. Robert has just attended a My Brother’s Keeper Summit at the White House with President Barack Obama and other leaders across the country and is determined to assist in bringing forth the next generation of leaders in Prince George’s county.
Robert is visionary, results-driven leader with a proven record of achievements in education and administration within public and private school sectors.
His educational background is impressive – a B.A. in criminal justice from State University of New York at Albany, an M.A. in special education from Bowie State, an Advanced Graduate Certificate in educational leadership from the University of the District of Columbia and completion of SUPES Academy Chicago with a focus on Education Policy and Administration. He is the recipient of many leadership awards. As a dedicated professional; Robert has a strong determination to utilize his skills and expertise to increase the opportunities for students to be successful.
Robert also serves as the Executive Director of F.O.R.C.E -Friends Outreach Restoration for Children to Excel which is an non profit organization designed to assist “At Risk Youth” complete high school, gain acceptance into college and find successful careers in their field of interest.
